Memories are not the key to the future
but are the key to the past.
~Corrie Ten Boom
When memories are brought back into our minds, they bring happiness and good times back. When memories return, they make us feel young, excited, memorable and special. Memories are very important in our lives. Not all memories are happy on the other end. Bad memories include, grief pain and loss. We love happy memories because they remind us of our youth and memorable times. I can remember the time I went to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver with my parents. I can remember those few February days in just like it was yesterday. I remember the times waking up and seeing the snow capped mountains right in front of my face. The events were stupendous and the athletes were fantastic. All I could hear was the monotonous cheering of the fans to the outstanding athletes. At night, the sudden chill in my face made me feel like I was at Mount Sunapee doing the sport I love. Just like the athletes in Vancouver did. It didn't matter that I was there and not one of my other friends were. All that mattered was that I was in the process of making a new memory. A memory that would stay with me for as long as I lived. It was sad leaving Vancouver, it really was. In my mind, I knew that this memory would stay there forever. It would never go away, because as we all know memories last forever.
